The process of Commissioning a Portrait painting

I do portraits from both live sittings and the photographs. If working from life, the number of consecutive sittings needed depends on the size and type of portrait required, However, mostly people are happy to get their portrait done by a photograph. I use the best oil paints in the market for my portrait paintings and dedicate my time and mind to give a breathtakingly high-quality product to my customers.

Normally, for single head portrait, I visit the customer’s place or invite the customer to visit my place for a photographic sitting. Sometimes, I do portrait paintings from photographs taken by others if they are in good quality in angle, light and the resolution (you can e- mail me a digital photograph or scanned one if it is an old photograph).

For group photographs, Sittings can be taking place at your place with natural light or I will use one or two artificial lights if necessary, as I have all the equipment I need. Usually, I travel to the customer’s place to have a single photographic portrait sitting. Travel expenses will be added to the cost.

If the customer ready to provide a high-quality group photographs with higher resolution and of a quality close-up shot of everyone from the same angle, traveling cost can be avoided.

Portrait paintings

Portraits of adults can be usually life-size, or larger. The size of portraits can be varied from head and shoulders, through 3/4 length to full length.

Prices start from £1500.00 for a single head and shoulders and when it is more than one subject extra £200.00 will be added for each head.

Portrait paintings of children

For child portraits I work in only with photographs which I take myself or provided by the customer. Relaxed process of children will be the key to an accurate representation of your child’s character.

As I mention above, I visit the customer’s place or invite the customer to visit my place for a photographic sitting. Sometimes, I do portrait paintings from photographs taken by others if they are in good quality in angle, light and the resolution (you can e- mail me a digital photograph or scanned one if it is an old photograph).

Prices start from £1500.00 for an oil painting of head and shoulders, and the starting price of oil 3/4 length portrait starts from £2000.00

Family portrait paintings

Family portraits in oils can be any size from 3 ft up to about 6ft. Price starts in £2500.00 for 3ft X 5ft and 6ftX 8ft will be £4200.00. I can come to your home to take a family photographs if you can gather all the members of family in a weekend, or you can provide a photograph as I specified above for group portraits. Travel expenses will be added to the cost of artwork.

Animal portrait paintings

Animal portraits can be done by high quality photographs provided by the customer.

Prices starting from £500.00 and £100.00 per head, will be added to if more than one head in an animal portrait.
